A Letter From Our Pastor

My Dear Parishioners,
Peace be with you. Locked away, hiding in the upper room, these were the words Jesus spoke to his Apostles on the day of his Resurrection. In the midst of the fear surrounding this pandemic and the sadness of not being able to gather to celebrate the Eucharist I want to offer you that consolation Jesus gives to his disciples, the good news that he is near to us, that he has risen. I want also to assure you of my prayers and the prayers of Fr. Michael and Fr. Jim on your behalf in these uncertain times. As the season of Lent continues, and especially as we find ourselves separated on the road to Easter, it is so important that we keep our focus on the reason for our hope: the death and resurrection of Jesus. I hope that this temporary fast from gathering for worship and receiving the Blessed Sacrament may lead us all to cherish more that gift of the body and blood of Christ, and that when we are able once again to worship together our joy may be greater because of this present sorrow. In this way, I invite all of us to seek those ways in which we can spend this time growing more deeply in love with Jesus.
Therefore, while we cannot gather as a full community, we as a collaborative priest and lay staff have come up with some ways that we can make the resources of our three parishes available to all of you. Please note the following schedule of times and places there will be opportunities either at our churches or on our social media pages to spend some time with the Lord. I hope this will be a great help for all of us to stay connected to our community and deepen our faith while we wait for this terrible crisis to pass. Until we gather again may you be safe, and may you know the love of God.
Your servant,
Father Joe
