To Our Families,

We would like to thank all of our families for participating in our recent faith formation survey, your responses provided great guidance in planning for the Fall. After much conversation amongst the priests and staff members in our Collaborative parishes, we have decided to move to a remote, family based program this year. Given the current climate with the pandemic, we feel this is in the best interest of the children, families and volunteers at this time. We do not want to add to your stress! For this reason, we will be using a home based program that is simple and easy to use for families. As stated in our survey, we believe parents are the primary religious educators of their children, and we believe this program will be an opportunity for your child to continue their own faith journey but also for each family to grow in faith together. We will be adopting a program entitled Project Nazareth through the Archdiocese of Boston. This is a liturgical program which will is based in scripture and prayer. We are hopeful that this will be not only a good fit for the coming year, but also a great opportunity for your family to come together in faith during this stressful, uncertain time. Below you will find answers to some FAQ’s and concerns you may have.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I have children in different grades, will we have to work with multiple books?

We will be using the same curriculum for grades 1 through 6 to make it easier on families. There will be additional supplemental books for grade 2 that are sacrament specific and grades 7-10 will be assigned independent work on google classroom to be completed monthly.

2. How will I find the time to homeschool with everything else that we have to do this year with school work?

It is our hope that you will be able to work this program into your schedule. It will take about 30 minutes to read and discuss the scriptures with your children weekly.

3. What if we do not have a bible?

We will be providing all families with a family friendly bible to read the scriptures together. We think this will be a wonderful opportunity to break open the word of God together as a family.

4. What is Project Nazareth? Is it a book?

Project Nazareth is an electronic resource. It will need to be printed out. You will have the option to print it at home, or we can print it for you and you can pick it up at the parish center.

5. Will there be any large group meetings.

At this time we are not planning any large group meetings through December. We will reevaluate in January depending upon state and diocesan guidelines. We may organize optional Zoom Meetings as the year progresses.

6. What if I need help? Am I qualified?

We will be checking in with you on a monthly basis to see how you are doing. You are qualified! We are here to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

7. What will the google classroom assignments for grades 7-10 involve?

These assignments will all be emailed through our parish email account. Students will be asked to watch a video or read an article and respond to a few questions. These are intended to be monthly assignments.

8. How long will the program run?

We will begin the program in October and it will end in May.

9. How much will the program cost?

Due to the fact that many of our families have been financially impacted by the pandemic, we have reduced our fee significantly. The fee for the coming year will be $20 per child. Grade 2 will pay an additional $30 for sacramental materials.

We ask that all registrations be submitted by September 15th
